Educational Design & Services

Ellie in her full time capacity is the Inclusive Education Specialist for the Collaborative for Inclusive Education at the New York City Charter Center. She has spent over two decades working in specialized education and supporting special populations (SpEd, MLL, specifically at-risk youth) in many capacities; a teacher for 10 years, coordinator for a range of years, and director & senior director of special populations for some great charter schools across the country for 10+ years. She has spent the most time teaching in MA, RI, & NYC, and worked administratively across MA, NJ, LA, TX, NV, and NYC. In her current role with The Collaborative for Inclusive Education, she delightfully has the capacity & opportunity to support all NYC charter schools (and some NYCPS programs!) and loves it.

Ellie attended Syracuse University to study Psychology and Anthropology, specifically the intersection of psychology within social and familial constructs, one of her favorite places to lend support as a teacher and former network administrator. 

Ellie originally began her career in private education specializing in language-based learning disabilities remediation and moved into teaching in the public charter sector in the early 2000’s. She focused on specialized & integrated classrooms & services in start-up charter sector times, and proudly remains an advocate and teacher of teachers and administrators in her work. Ellie holds a B.A. in Psychology from Syracuse University and a M.S. in Special Education from Simmons University.
